Thurston County Public Works is recruiting for an Asset Management Specialist 2 to join our dynamic, energetic, and innovative team. The successful candidate will have the ability to create and manage GIS data, use maintenance history data to produce reports for management level staff, and work directly with field staff to create and configure solutions to meet their day-to-day needs. Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geology, GIS, Geosciences, Remote Sensing, or a closely related field.

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in GIS and geological mapping, with a proven track record in a supervisory, team lead, or senior technical capacity.

• Technical Skills:

  • Expert-level proficiency with advanced GIS platforms (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS, or similar).

  • Deep expertise in complex spatial modeling, terrain analysis, and advanced geodatabase architecture.

  • Strong familiarity with federal data standards, including FGDC metadata protocols.
